A TYPICAL DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TROPHY HUNTER
(PLEASE NOTE: Due to strict food laws you will not be permitted to take any meat out of South Africa.)
A typical trophy hunt starts with you our client/s being fetched at the Johannesburg International Airport and brought back to the Shabalala Game Ranch.
Depending on the time of your arrival, you may just settle in and take an evening game drive. You will also sight in your rifles at the shooting range. After that the actual hunting starts.
Your day will start with a light early morning breakfast and coffee. You will then go out with your professional hunter who will guide you in the bush and give advice on what constitutes a good trophy.
As a rule you will be back in camp in time for a late brunch and a siesta after which you will be back on the hunt again. If you are successful, your animal will be fetched, gutted and skinned, and your trophy will be preserved with salt until your departure.
At around sunset you should be back in camp to wash up and unwind around the fire with a drink sharing die days hunting stories while you wait for supper.
On completion of your hunting trip, your paperwork will be sorted out at Shabalala Game Ranch and you will be taken back to the Johannesburg International Airport in time to return back home.
THE NON-HUNTING WIVES
Shabalala Safaris take pride in accommodating for the non-hunting wives as well while their enthusiastic hunting partners are on the prowl.
On request we are happy to take you into town to enjoy a relaxing spa treatment. There is a curio shop where you can buy mementoes to remind you of your trip. And we can also arrange trips to the beautiful Pilanesburg and similar places every now and again.
